Were big on Word Girl so when we saw this app we were really excited. She loves it (shes five) and it keeps her occupied at restaurants. Im happy I bought it for her. Scholastic really needs more apps.
my son plays this every once and a while but doesnt like to "fly" so he has me do that part. Maybe a setting where that is optional would nice. Great concept to combine learning with arcade fun.
This app has lots of variety, and my 5 year old keeps coming back to it -- she has a large vocabulary like WordGirl. I cant think of anything to improve, so Im giving the app 5 stars.
Just got it yesterday and my 4.5yo twin boys LOVE it. Holds their attention for a surprisingly long time, too!

Word Girl kept getting stuck on the flying part, but we finally figured out that tapping the screen doesnt work… you have to actually tilt the phone in order to make her fly. Once we had that down, my daughter LOVED playing the game.
Some bad moments
I would like the stories to be shorter and have more vocabulary words. It doesnt take long to go through the whole set. The potential is there for this to be a great app.
Waste of money! Shows 3 screen shots of cartoon then asks simple question that is muliple choice. Then takes you to game that you are suppose to be able to move flying wordgirl, but just stays at bottom of screen and needs to be restarted. This is a 1 min. process. Also, disappoint not made for ipads large screen, must enlarge to play.

Immediately flies to the top and stays there - so sad!
Agree with the other posters here...dont waste your money. App does not work at all. Once gameplay begins, touch controls do not function and Word Girl just flies at the bottom of the screen. Lame.
I just purchased this app and nothing works. Wordgirl doesnt fly and the screens get stuck.
I wish I had not bought this for my son, you cant do anything with this app. She files to the top and stays there, very disappointing!
